Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA), in partnership with the City of Toronto, welcomes you to the virtual Public Open House for the Toronto Island Park Flood and Erosion Mitigation Project.

This virtual Public Open House offers you a self-guided review of project materials, including an overview of the project, proposed concept designs, and an evaluation of the presented solutions.

The community feedback period closed on April 21, 2023. The feedback we received will be used to help finalize our evaluation of the preferred solutions. If you would like to be notified of future project updates, please subscribe to our mailing list at the bottom of the page.

About the Toronto Island Park Flood and Erosion Mitigation Project

We have initiated a Class Environmental Assessment (EA) to develop long-term flood and erosion control measures to protect the park from shoreline flooding.

Explore the Study Areas

The project includes four main study areas within the park. Each study area has been reviewed to identify more targeted focus areas for flood protection based on risk to existing infrastructure and park amenities. As part of the Class EA process, separate sets of alternative solutions were developed for each of the focus areas based on the unique conditions of each site. Preferred solutions have now been selected.
